Arne Emil Jacobsen (1902 – 1971) left an indelible mark on the world of design as a Danish architect and furniture designer. Born in Copenhagen, he studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts under the influence of architects Kay Fisker and Kaj Gottlob.

Jacobsen gained early recognition in 1925 when he won a silver medal for chair design at the Paris Art Deco fair. Establishing his own office in 1926, he designed notable projects such as the Rothenborg House and a seaside resort in Klampenborg.
